Bradford-born Danny made his mark with Everton before off-pitch problems led him back to his home town club. His appearances during their relegation season (2003-04) were limited by hamstring problems but manager Brian Robson considered him a Premiership player. Danny arrived on a free because Bradford were in administration and they were keen to get his wages of their books. Just as Leeds Utd want rid of every skulking, overpaid player from their relegation squad!

30.9.2004: Kevin Blackwell sold Danny to Neil Warnock's Sheffield United for £50,000 after Danny found it hard to establish himself in Kevin Blackwell's plans. A number of early season injury problems did not help his cause and his only first team experience this season came in the 1-0 Carling Cup win over Swindon Town, when he came on for the last twenty minutes. After the move it took him a month but Danny scored his first goal, a lovely close-range, floated header, for the Blades versus Crewe, on 29th October, 2004
