left-back Jamie Clapham has joined Leeds United on loan until 30 September 2007. Jamie has played over 300 senior games for Tottenham Hotspur, Ipswich Town, Birmingham City and Wolves.
The loan is due to the current shortage of defenders at the club which was exacerbated today by the confirmation that Eddie Lewis has completed his move to Derby County. Although Eddie usually played left midfield he also played let back for the USA international side and was a useful back-up for Leeds United in that position. Jamie is clearly a direct replacement for the cover that Eddie provided. Dennis released the club's other left-back Stephen Crainey after a poor season during the releagtion from the Championship.
He will wear 24, this was Rui Marques' number last season. Rui has been promoted to squad number 5.

Frazer Richardson
Frazer Richardson Midfield & Full Back - Right
Squad Number: 2
International: England U-20
Frazer was the long-term understudy Republic of Ireland, international Gary Kelly and Danny Mills. Now Gary Kelly has retired Frazer has a chance to make the right back berth his own. However, he has been suffering a long term injury. Fraser has successfully played right-midfield for Leeds United as well.
Despite being born in Rotherham, Frazer Richardson is a lifelong Leeds fan who has emerged through the Leeds United Academy ranks to become an established youth international. Like Leeds fans Aaron Lennon and James Milner Frazer could also be forced to leave Leeds and at the start of the League One 2007-08 season he has been linked with a move to Burnley FC.
