Jermaine Beckford went from a bit part player, sent on loan to (then) League One Scunthorpe United in 2006-07, to centre stage as League One's Player of the Season 2007-08, and a 20 goal tally as Leeds United reached the Wembley play-off final in an incredible attempt to overcome a vindictive 15 point penalty imposed by the Football League.
By the end of the season he had lost his way a little and benefited from the inspirational loan signing of Dougie Freedman.
Now Freedman has returned to Crystal Palace and we wait to see if Beckford has learnt enough to bring more thought to his play and keep his mouth shut when near the referee!
