s expected Judge Adrian Smith handed down prison sentences to Manchester United's Mads Timm and former reserve Orc, Callum Flanagan, this morning at Manchester Crown Court. The Scumettes faced charges of dangerous driving from a race along public roads which ended with two innocent people in hospital. The full background to this story is detailed here.
Scummettes do the club proud
Man U striker, Mads Timm, 20 was sent down for 12 months to a young offenders institution. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges. Apparently Brian McClair wrote a glowing refence for the Dane but this was treated with the contempt it deserved by Judge Smith who passed his own comments on the behaviour of the pair of miscreants.
Callum Flanagan, 19 a former Scum player, now released by Old Trafford, received a lighter sentence of 8 months, receiving credit for pleading guilty. Though as he was the one who crashed into the victim's car it was hard to see a defence! He too will serve his time in a young offenders institution. They were both also disqualified from driving for three years.
Neither Orc showed emotion as the sentences were read out, but Timm's family, who were sitting in the public gallery, gasped with shock.
It remains to be seen how serious the Theatre of Queens takes this conviction of Mads Timm, will they stand by the idiot or sack him for putting the lives of hundreds of motorists in peril as they raced back from a training session at Man Utd's Carrington training ground.
