Leeds United's Icelandic international midfielder Gylfi Einarsson has been granted a new two-year contract at Elland Road.
28-year-old Gylfi's' current 18 month contract expires at the end of the 2005-06 season.
It is a further boost for Einarsson on his return to fitness from dislocating his shoulder in November, in a reserve game against Birmingham. He is expect to make his first appearance of the year against Manchester United's reserves this week.
Einarsson, who signed as a free agent in January 2005, said: "I'm very happy with the new deal and that people believe in me." He realises that he faces a tough task with Douglas and Liam Miller in fine midfield form and in the middle of a winning League streak too!
