The deal to bring Norwegian defender Brede Hangeland to Elland Road is dead.
He was summer transfer target and it was widely felt that United would make a move for him in the January transfer window. But Kevin Blackwell, has come out and said that Leeds United were not prepared to meet Viking Stavanger's valuation of the player.
"It all depends on finances and the money they are asking for him does not fit into the way we could finance it," Blackwell told the Whites' website.
The price has changed because FC Copehagen have come in with an acceptable bid for the defender.
