Leeds United manager Kevin Blackwell is reportedly making a deadline-day bid to sign Spurs' central defender Calum Davenport on loan.
The England U-21 centre half is available on loan and has proved himself at Championship level following a recent successful loan spell at Norwich City during which he played 16 games for the Canaries.
Blackwell has been forced into the market following the recent loss of Matthew Kilgallon with injuries that will sideline him for two months. However, until today, Blackwell lacked the available wages budget following the unexpected return to Elland Road of two high earners who had had successful loan periods with other clubs and were expected to sign for them permanently. But funds for wages have become available owing to Michael Ricketts' loan-out to Burnley, announced today.
