Leeds United striker Richard Cresswell has undergone an operation on his cartilage that will sideline him for six weeks. It was hoped that Cresswell could play through the injury and he appeared in the win against Watford last Tuesday. It was his cross to Healy that eventually found Blake for the winning strike.
However, he exacerbated the injury during Friday training and was forced to miss the debacle against struggling Leicester City at the Theatre of Crisps on Saturday. Eventually Cresswell has had to accept that the only way to clear up the injury is to have the cartilage stitched or shaved.
Such has his influence been this season that Kevin Blackwell is hinting at only a month out of action, though that is hope talking rather than any medical expertise! Blackwell has already lost the services of the striker for three months this season with a knee injury.
