ldham Athletic today secured the services of Sean
Gregan, on
loan, until January 2007. The loan to Oldham was predicted
in yesterday's
article by Chris Hudson on this site. Let's hope
the earlier predictions by Chris in 'Wise's
first mistake'
don't come to fruition too!
Dennis Wise wanted rid of Gregan because he is fixated
on a quest for youth as a solution to all the ills of Leeds United.
Sean hasn't really built a rapport with the Leeds fans and so was
an easy target to shift out of Elland Road on loan, despite playing
over seventy times in just two seasons. There is no firm news as
to whether Sean will make a permanent news as his wages are said
to be a problem; again see our article
yesterday for more information.
Sean remains a Leeds player and so we wish him well
at Boundary Park, playing under the managership of former Elland
Road favourite John Sheridan. It remains to be seen if Wise can
conjure up a defensive back two as effecive as Gregan and Butler
were at the start of last season (see Wise's
first mistake for
more details).
