Leeds fans were shocked to learn that the second match on the German pre-season tour of Leeds United, against Dynamo Dresden, has been cancelled by the Police.
Police sources indicated that German fans were intent on causing trouble at the game. Rather than play it at 3.30 in the morning or some such unpalatable hour as the English police would do, the German police have acted decisively and cancelled the Saturday afternoon fixture.
This will come as a huge disappointment to fans of both clubs following the enthusiastic turnout to watch Union Berlin beat Leeds 2-0 last night.
It will also be a major blow to the plans of Dennis Wise whose pre-season continues to be confounded at every turn. First of all no players and now no matches. It can't get worse for Den and Ken can it? Of course it can - this is Leeds United!
At the moment there is no question of the final match on the tour against FC Energie Cottbus being cancelled. It takes place as planned on Monday 23 July.
