STOP PRESS: LEEDS GRAB WIN WITH LAST KICK OF MATCH 1-0!
The teams have been announced for tonight's Roses match against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. As expected, Dennis Wise has put his two new loan signings straight into the starting lineup to replace the suspended Tresor Kandol and Jermaine Beckford. The best news of the night has to be the return of Alan Thompson from his groin injury. The knock-on effect of Thommo's return is that Andrew Hughes returns to left-back, which in turn means that on-loan Jamie Clapham has to make do with a place on the bench.
Oldham will feature familiar faces to Leeds fans with Michael Ricketts and Sean Gregan in the team and the manager is none other than John Sheridan. Oldham have a Leeds fan in their line-up, Andy Liddell a Leeds-born forward - so presumably he'll open the scoring for the Latics then?
Oldham Athletic: Crossley, Eardley, Hazell, Gregan, Bertrand, Liddell, Kalala, Kilkenny, Taylor, Ricketts, Davies
Subs: Allott, Wolfenden, McDonald, Thompson, Trottman.
Leeds United: Ankergren, Richardson, Heath, Marques, Hughes, Prutton, Douglas, Thompson, Carole, De Vries, Andrews.
Subs: Huntington, Westlake, Weston, Clapham, Ameobi
Tonight's referee is Phil Joslin who, Leeds fans will be pleased to note, has NOT issued a red card in any of his eight games this season! But he's no softy - he has issued 27 yellow cards this season and last season he showed the red card six times.
He only refereed a Leeds game once last season - the Hull v Leeds Championship game where he showed Leeds United players four yellow cards!
