Leeds United's first venture into the new world of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy will be away at north east rivals Darlington during the week commencing 8 October 2007
The draw for the second round was made at Saturday lunchtime.
Here are the remaining fixtures:
Wrexham or Macclesfield v Stockport County
Carlisle v Chester
Morecambe v Port Vale
Rochdale v Bury
Doncaster v Oldham
Lincoln v Hartlepool
Rotherham v Grimsby
Luckily for Leeds United we are familiar with Darlo's ground having played regular pre-season games there for several years.
Leeds fans should remember that this competition holds its final at WEMBLEY. This could be the easiest chance Leeds United have had to get to Wembley since the ill-fated 1996 League Cup final against Aston Villa.
Many fans of Premeir League clubs have infested Leeds United internet forums poking fun at the fact that Leeds United are participating in this competition for clubs outside the top two divisions of English football. They will be choking with jealousy when they see Leeds United running out at Wembley after they have spent their season in the usual desperate struggle to avoid relegation. It's just a matter of perspective.
