The club have confirmed that the KO for the Leeds Utd v Leyton Orient game on Sat 13 Oct will remain at 3pm despite the England v Estonia game kicking off at the same same time. The club are clearly confident that the fans will keep turning out at Elland Road!
Here's the link to Radio One DJ (and Leeds United fan) Chris Moyle's song "We got to zero points baby"
and here's the link to our lyrics of "We got to zero points baby" A lovely way to celebrate to the dismissal of the Football League's spiteful 15 point penalty.
We reported yesterday that Dennis Wise was trying to land Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh on loan. Today it has been reported that Sheffield Wednesday are trying to hijack the deal. Commentators seem to think that the "lure of Championship football" will be enough to oust Leeds. Really? Leeds are 100% successful and Wednesday are 100% failures this season. Does he want to battle relegation all season or lead a charge towards the play-offs in a winning team? Does he want to play in front of the biggest crowds outside the Premier League? If so he won't find them in the Championship but rather at Elland Road - where the average gate is is also higher than at four of the Premier League clubs - this for a team that has had to win five times just to get zero points!
Our strikers are on fire. Have the Owls got any strikers? Kavanagh's decision will reveal much about his own personal ambition.
The club have asked fans to book their tickets for Swansea City on Saturday 22 September asap. Ticket prices for the Swansea City game start at £18 adults and £8 for concessions.
Saturday 22 Sept is also deadline day for the purchase of season tickets.
Tore Andre Flo is once again starting training after recovering from injury. This time it was a foot injury. Alan Thompson is also recovering from his groin strain and is reported to be in contention for Friday's match against Bristol Rovers. New goalkeeper David Lucas will also be in the squad as cover for Ankergren. Midfielders Curtis Weston and Ian Westlake are also ready to join the squad for the match v the Pirates. They both played in the 2-1 friendly win against Chesterfield on Tuesday. A match that saw new signing Filipe da Costa score from a free kick but he is still awaiting international clearance before he can play for us in anger - although Dennis Wise has revealed he is not match fit anyway so the delay is not important at this stage.
