Sheehan exits Elland Road

Sep-1-2010 By Autolycus

Defender Alan Sheehan has left Elland Road to join former Whites David Lucas, Dave Prutton and Jonathan Douglas at Swindon Town.

Sheehan was on loan at the Robins during the 2009-2010 season and played 26 times for the club. He had previously been loaned out to Oldham and Crewe

Alan never really became a regular in the Leeds team following his loan move becoming permanent during the summer of 2008. He’d played 10 games on loan to us in 2007-08 and then only played 13 games more once he was a permanent player.

We wish Alan and all our former players well in their League One campaigns this season.

Deadline Duo Sign for Whites

Aug-31-2010 By Autolycus

Leeds United signed Manchester City midfielder Adam Clayton and Honduran international striker Ramon Nunez on transfer deadline day.

Clayton has been on loan at Elland Road but has now agreed a permanent deal.

Nunez has been on trial with Leeds United since the start of August and convinced Leeds’ manager Simon Grayson enough to offer him a deal. The striker can also play in midfield and played in all of Honduras’ games in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Adam has already made two substitute appearances for the Whites in the 2010-11 season, against Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

Ramon’s former clubs include FC Dallas, Chivas USA, and Olympia.

Leeds United have made their sixth signing of the close season by bringing 25-year-old, Leeds-born, midfielder Lloyd Sam to Elland Road.

Lloyd Sam was out of contract with League One’s Charlton Athletic at the end of last season and had attracted interest from Championship clubs.

Lloyd, made 134 career appearances for Charlton and had loan spells with Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday, and Southend United.

In 2009-2010 he helped Charlton to the League One Play-Off semi-finals as well as helping Charlton push Leeds United as the early front runners in League One.

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson told the official website, “”He has plenty of experience, he has played at Championship level, and he is hungry and keen to do well.”
