Lee Holmes doesn’t come to Leeds United - so what?

4thegame.com is claiming that Leeds United (among others) have been beaten to the punch in an attempt to sign 21 year-old Derby County midfielder Lee Holmes on a Bosman free transfer.
His main claim to fame is that he became the Rams’ youngest-ever player on his debut in 2002, aged just fifteen but he has never made a first-team position is own and the club were happy to wind-down his contract.
However, there has been no official interest shown from McAllister in Holmes and the main reason for the Elland Road connection to the story is the geographic fact that Holmes played for Bradford City on loan during the 2006-07 season.
He played at Elland Road for Walsall FC in their 2-0 defeat in March but his performance didn’t subsequently send the Leeds scouts scurrying after him.
We do still have scouts at Leeds don’t we? Or did Ken get rid of them along with Barry the goldfish?
McAllister is pursuing changes to his strike force rather than midfield at the moment and, frankly, he would be looking for a higher achiever than Lee Holmes to bring the League One trophy to Elland Road next May.
Leeds chase Lee Holmes - reality score - 0 out of 5
