Leeds United on the web since 1999

Leeds United have announced the end on online sales of tickets for the home leg of the League One play-offs becasue the demand is so great it has taken down the webservers of their ticketing partner Software4Sport again. The same problem occurred yesterday.

“Demand like this has never been experienced by them before, including their clients Liverpool, Newcastle and Rangers,” said a club spokesman on the official website.

“Improvements are being made. However, in an attempt to reduce the fustration of our fans this service will be withdrawn.”

You can still buy tickets at the ticket office counters or by calling 0871 334 199

Carlisle United ticket info

Members and Season Ticket holders’ priority booking period for tickets for the Carlisle United play-off semi-final ends at 17:00hrs, Tuesday May 6th and then any remaining tickets will go on general sale, where they will be limited to just four per applicant. The general sale begins sale at 09:00hrs, Wednesday 7th May.

This is a Category B game (unfortunately, our application for category C status was rejected by Mawhinney’s Football League and the other play-off clubs - see our story and the hilarious comments from indignant fans from the other clubs after we called them money-grubbing hypocrites) and so ticket prices are as follows:

Prices: Adults/Senior Citizen/Juvenile.
North Stands £20/£13/£10
South Stand £20/£13/£10
West Stand £28/£28#/£28*
East Central Lower £28/£28#/£28*
East Upper £20/£13/£10
# £21 for Senior Citizen Season Ticket holders
* £18 for Juvenile Season Ticket holders

Well they all hate Leeds United and its fans but when there’s a chance of getting their hands on Leeds’ money the Football League and the other clubs in the League One play-offs just can’t get enough of them.

Rubbing their grimy paws with glee at the thought of a cut of a 40,000 gate at Elland Road the Football League and the other clubs in the play-offs have rejected the application by Leeds United to have the home leg of the League One play-offs classed as category C game and thus reward fans for their fantastic support by leaving some money in their pocket.

No, the Football League and the other shameless clubs want to squeeze every penny out of their fans. Have they not heard of the increases in energy, food and petrol prices and mortgages repayments? Do they think football fans have bottomless pockets? Still, maybe that’s why most of them play in front of less than 15,000 week in, week out. Of course, Lord Mawhinney is a former politician, so why would we expect him to relate to the needs of the ordinary working man, Gordon Brown clearly lives in a world of his own!

Screw the fans - another great decision from the Football League and Planet Mawhinney.

Still as Ken Bates said this evening on Radio Yorkshire in an avuncular style, but with threatening undertones of the Gestapo, “we have long memories and know those clubs who may want help in the future“.

The official Leeds United website has just announced that extra tickets are available for Saturday’s game against Gillingham at Elland Road.

Approximately 850 tickets, which are for a section of the South Stand and an area of the East Stand, will be on sale at Elland Road from 09.00 hours on Wednesday, 30th April.

The tickets will be ONLY be on sale to personal applications at the West Stand Ticket Office.

There is a maximum of two per person.
