Yeovil Town 1 – 2 Leeds United

Apr-5-2010 By admin

Despite two goals from Leeds captain and defender Richard Naylor it was Max Gradel who earned the man of the Match award.

The former Leicester man won plaudits for a never say die performance. It was Gradel’s first full start after 22 sub appearances.

Naylor, a former striker with Ipswich scored for the first time since january 2009. Both goals were headers. Richard had another header cleared off the line.

Leeds were on top for most of the first half and the start of the second half but once Yeovil scored Leeds fans had to endure a final twenty minutes of anxiety as Leeds faded and Yeovil were invigorated and came looking for the equaliser.

Despite being televised on Sky, kicking of at 12.30 on Easter Monday and the huge travelling involved, Leeds United fans gave Yeovil their biggest crowd of the season.

Leeds temporarily went second in League One after the win, only to be replaced by Millwall 30 minutes later after they beat Colchester away.
